A lot of bloggers participate in “What I Ate Wednesday” which usually includes a comentary, photos and sometimes recipes of what a blogger eats through out the day. I know Tiff at Love, Sweat & Beers participates in this most weeks (this week she ate some “ugly food“… Her words, not mine!)
Today, I want to share what ate last night. I ate a light breakfast and lunch because I was invited to dinner with my new collegues. One of our leaders was in from the west coast office and wanted to take us to dinner. We went to Tao, an Asian fusion restaurant, vibrating with club beats and brimming with exotic cocktails. All of this happens under the watchful eye of a 16 foot tall Buddha.
We decided to order family style so everyone could try an assortment of the offereings from Tao. However, the bigest treat was dessert. We ordered the Giant Chocolate Fortune Cookie.
As you can see in the picture, this is a very large dessert. It is about 6 inches in diameter, partially dipped in chocolate and is filled with a combination of chocolate and white chocolate mouse. It is sinful, but delicious! The best part? Everyone at the table actually get their own forutne! My forutne said, “Tonight you will be blinded by passion”. Ooh la la!
The funny thing is, when the check came, we were given a regular sized fortune cookies. When I opened my cookie, guess what my fortune said :
Is the universe trying to tell me something?

Yup, mine were ugly. Yours? Not ugly at all. I’m envious, actually.
Yeah but your’s were a heck of a lot lower in calories! lol! Personally, I think some of the ugliest looking foods taste the very best
Mmm looked good and I think a double fortune means it has to come true
Or they only have two different ones they give out!
I thought about that too, but there were 6 of us, 12 fortunes in total and I was the only one to get duplicates…. I’ve got my eyes open for passion!
What a fun evening!! Sounds like a great restaurant…and I’m glad you’re out there socializing with your new collegues! That dessert looks delish!!
Me too! It was nice to get to know them a bit better in a not so work concentrated approach.
I suppose it is trying to tell you something…. I rarely get two of the same in one night… Hmmm but it is a good message.
